Help Counts ! Help NOW!
The most biggest concern for donors is whether their goods/money will actually reach the effected. That is
exactly why most of our people have lost faith in ‘NGO’s’. Specifically in Pakistan ‘NGO’s’ don’t fully utilize technology in order to reflect transparency in their projects. However there is one such organization that takes care of all your concerns and is devoted to provide ‘transparency’ in order to attain valuable trust from the people. Help counts is a website to increase awareness and action towards improving the social welfare, justice, and human rights of all citizens.
The internet-based relief organization is accepting to help fund its efforts, and adds that as little as Rs. 250 ($ 3.10 / € 2.30) will cover one 10Kg bag, which can make 112 servings of bread.
Displaced citizens should register online to reserve their supplies at www.HelpCounts.org.
People are reminded to watch this website for the latest information about the relief effort
and how to participate.
Their website displace extensive details on people being helped. They have a live counter setup to display the number of flour bags distributed and families helped. Truly an example of using technology for raising funds and overcoming the crisis at hand. So let’s get going donate genorously and watch your money turn to action!

Give Back Swat !
I had the chance to visit swat a few years back. Needless to say that my time there was heavenly . I had heard it being called mini Switzerland and Pakistan’s heaven but all that seemed an understatement. It was a place at peace and certainly one of the most scenic places in Pakistan. Nearly everyone who has been to swat is aware of the hospitality of its dwellers. The valley itself had an aura of genial.
Today I want to take a walk down the memmory lane and remmeber swat in all its Glory. With strong hopes that the day is not far when we will be able to walk down the valleys of swat nad rejoice the Paradise.

This heaven belongs to us and it has no place for brutality and dirty politics. The dwellers of this paradise are being forced to lay around in the scortching heat without necessaities of life. These people are certainly not there at will and definately not happy. They need us , You and Me to makes their lives less miserable and more comfortable. I consider it my duty to help my countrymen in need, shouldnt you ? Please donate!
Please join hands to help Pakistan… to help humanity
This cup of tea was served by: The view from behind my specs…

The place is huge… the children run past me as I make my way further. The litter around is horrible and the stench…. heat would do that but so would not having running water for days.
My father sits down in the camp and wipes his shiny head with a handkerchief. I worry because the heat is stifling and he’s a heart patient and a diabetic.
‘Okay, lets get to the issues of the day,’ he says.
The UNHCR representative says they need chlorine today and the government’s not releasing any till payment has been secured.
‘Give them the chlorine,’ says my Dad, ‘today.’
Tube wells, the man points out. They want tubewells dug asap because there isn’t enough water to go around.
‘What’s keeping you?’ asks my Dad.
‘The government wants to advertise that, issue a tender and THEN see WHO is going to dig it.’
‘When,’ says my Dad, ‘when these people have returned to their homes??’
He’s shouting by this point and I can see the veins in his neck when he shouts. it scares me… and for a moment I think of all the other people, the displaced people who are as big a number as the entire population of Islamabad: 1.2 million of them. Some of them will be heart patients just like my Dad… there wil be diabetics too… and women… and children.
Children…
The first child died in the camps two days ago of dysentry.
There’s no food. No water. The government is trying its best but like I quoted above, there are too many protocols to follow. A reason why my Dad is going to Peshawar every day and coming back because he can over-ride some rules that others can’t. He says there must be no deaths on his head, his conscience.
There must be none on mine either.
Or yours.
Please let this be a chance for you to show National Solidarity and help these people because they are as real victims of the war on terror as anyone else.
If you’re not a Pakistani, you’re still a human with a heart. Please pledge whatever you see fit to prevent this from becoming a humanitarian disaster.
$1,000Provides a therapeutic feeding kit to feed 100 children… so $10 = 1 child$500If you live in Pakistan and can pledge your management skills or some of your time, please do. We need all hands on board.
EDHI Foundation is also doing a lot of work, as are some other organizations. Please check the organization before donating hard earned money… you want it to go to the right place.

Launching Blogger’s Camapaign for Swat
Here we are taking the first initiative to start a Bloggers campaign in order to raise voice for the victims of war in Pakistan’s Tribal areas. We are looking for bloggers/activist/writers/journalist to join hand with us. We ask for a blog post highlighting Pleas of the victims. Please note that posts that mention information about volunteer groups/NGOs and requirement of goods are our main focus. we aim to use this to connect volunteer groups and to ensure that the relief work is being carried out strategically. If you are someone who has means to travel to the affected areas but would want to travel in a group for safety and with more funds we will help spread your word.
The mainstream media is currently too occupied with political bickering. In this case we consider it our responsibility to help spread the word. To help raise funds and strategically plan relief for the victims. Their welfare should be our first and foremost responsibility.

So start shouting out your ideas and collaborating to raise awareness and generate funds for the affected. As a community it is our responsibilty to try our level best to help the needy. We need to rekindle the same spirit that was once shown in the Kashmir Quake’05. We ask you to join hands with us and help spread the word. We are determined to promote everyone whose working for the relief of the victims. Its time to step away from the Political circus and do something for REAL!.
